EXPERIENCED CHILDHOOD TRAUMA?

If so, then like many people in Ireland, you could be affected by childhood trauma. This trauma could have arisen from emotional, sexual or physical abuse – the kind of abuse which we’ve read
about in the media. But trauma can also arise if we’ve been neglected as children, if we just did not get the care that we needed, for whatever reason.
Maintaining a ’quality of life’ can be hugely challenging for survivors of childhood trauma. You might have difficulty feeling joy, maintaining intimate relationships, living without chaos and being alive to new experiences i.e. doing the stuff that other people take for granted.
The very habits that helped you deal with the initial trauma, may now actually be the issue. They can be reinforcing your pain, causing you further isolation and distancing you from other people.
And do you know what? Neither the trauma, nor it’s affects, are your fault AND it is possible to feel better. Work with me and, at your pace, we will unravel the story of what has happened in your life. As you understand the affect this has had on you, you can start to heal and, gradually, you will begin to feel better.
